Getting ready for nativity plays...

Peek a boo!
Did you guess it was me?
I'm going to be an ox!

I'm a star shining in the night And if mummy can get my wings off to get the rest of my costume on....
I'm going to be a very cheeky angel!

Picture entries for competition.

These are our entries for a Scholastic competition, we had to imagine what our dæmon (a physical projection of our soul in an animal form) would be. Do you think we've got them right?

Riddles

I'm as fast as the fastest
I'm slower than the slowest
I bite your face,
I whip your ears,
I crawl through cracks,
and I rip apart houses...
What am I?

I'm comfy and cosy.
I'm the best place for you,
I stay where I'm put,
and stay there for evermore.
What am I?

I'm a box of cleverness,
I own a lot of keys
I have a pet mouse,
and I'm the master of game playing.
What am I?

Four legs have I,
I'm as fast as can be
I'm yellow yes yellow!
with black spots to hide me...

Four legs have I,
I'm a leaf biting soul
I crawl around,
and hide when I'm scared...

I'm a dark place,
I'm a dusty old place
You just throw stuff up
and forget about ti
Things get lost there,
people get scared there
Where am I?

Cylinders and robots...

Joseph has been going over to the Lafford school once a week (allowing his teacher PPA time) with his class to have an art lesson with Mr East. He has been utterly enthused with his newly acquired skill to draw 3Dimensional objects... starting with pencils.
Last week he came home having learnt to draw cylinders. "It's all in the shading Mummy!"
Here are a couple of his drawings produced over the weekend.

My homework for this weekend...

Write a poem each verse beginning: If I had fins, I would...

Fins…

If I had fins I would... taste the blood red liquid that gushes out of wounded fish which tastes like salty wine.

If I had fins I would... feel the rough rusty surface with my belly, of a treasure chest which is filled with gold coins as bright as the most shining sun.

If I had fins I would… smell the salty whiff of the sea wafting through my gills with a scent similar to salty chips.

If I had fins I would… hear the sound of the sword fish fighting, the schools of fish screaming out bubbles, altogether sounding like a popular fair.

If I had fins I would… see bubbles flying every where, fishes chasing each other and sharks dining on dolphin as if it were their favourite meal.

If I had fins I would…dream of clear sparkling water, forest of dark green coral and shining coins glistening in the light breaking through the surface.

Sad news

This week we heard the very sad news that our school friends Angel, Thor and Keavy together with their little sister Willow died after a horrible accident when the car they were in with their family, rolled into the river Witham.
We are glad to know that Amber although hurt is getting better.
We have all been sad this week and on Friday we lit a candle at our special school service to remember them.

Descriptions

1. Giant swing : You and a partner are hauled 10 meters in the the air by your classmates , when you get to the top you pull a cord which sends you flying down at top speed.

2. Climbing wall : A 10 meter high climbing wall which at the top you ring a bell , then you lean back and on the way down you shout I WEAR PINK FRILLY KNICKERS!!!!!!!!!!.

3. Abseiling : Abseiling is 10 meters up in the air, first you climb up the the stairs inside of the frame then you get all clipped in and then you
go through the bars, lean back and Abseil down.

4. Silly Racing : Forget s
peed races, these races are about style and silliness you get in teams and you all get something to act out and its the person withe best impression of it.

5. Jacobs ladder :Jacobs ladder is a vertical ladder with widening gaps between the logs, this activity is about team work and you also need guts to get to the top.

Food was good, showers were warm, lights out was 9.30pm! The teachers were fun....hope they'll be like that in class!!!!!!!!

Getting excited!

Sunday morning and I'm going to Luke's party. Coming home I find Dick and Anne just getting out of the car. They have come for lunch.Home grown tates, parsnips, dwarf beans and courgettes were on the menu! I had already had some lunch at the party so I only had some pudding. It was lovely to have them for the afternoon but soon it was time to say goodbye and go in to help mummy pack the bags. We went to sleep waiting for our holiday adventure to begin...

In the afternoon we went up to the pool, played with friends and after helping daddy fencing the school pond Becky came back to our house to play.... unfortunately she twisted her ankle falling off the zip slide on her second go and sat on the sofa watching TV with us for the rest of the time!!! I hope it isn't serious and the swelling goes down...... Family tea and bed for a very tired Stainsby gang.
